Detectives arrested a teacher of Rajshahi University in a suicide provocation case filed after the death of Akter Jahan Joly, an Associate Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of the University.
The arrestee was identified as Atiqur Rahman, assistant professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of the University.
Al Amin, assistant commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said a team of DB police arrested Atiqur for interrogation.
On September 9, Jolly was found dead at her university residence on the campus.
Police also recovered a ‘suicide note’ from the room.
Kamrul Hasan, younger brother of Joly, filed a case with Motihar Police Station for alleged suicide provocation to the teacher.
