Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu has said BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is the "key sponsor" of Islamist militants and her party is "the factory" of militants.
Inu made the comments Tuesday during a human chain organized by Jubo Jote in front of the National Press Club, where he was the chief guest.
The human chain was organized to call for eliminating the militants and their supporters as well as bringing them to justice.
Hasanul Haq Inu said that the existing militants were backed by Khaleda Zia. By bringing to justice the key sponsor of Islamist militants, and her party which works as manufacturer of militants, it would be possible to eradicate militancy from the country.
President of Jubo Jote Rokonujjaman presided over the demonstration.
